The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey

In this spooky and suspenseful book set in 1888 New England, Will Henry is an orphaned teen who becomes the apprentice to the Monstrumologist: a scientist who studies and hunts monsters. After a series of particularly gruesome attacks, Will finds himself drawing closer and closer to a roving pack of human-like beasts that feast on people using sets of razor-sharp teeth. Can he defeat the pod of creatures before they overrun the town? I was on the edge of my seat while reading this book.
