Eragon is a book about a teenager who tries to free his land from the reign of the evil king, Galbatorix. Before he began his journey, Eragon lived with his uncle and his cousin. His mother abandoned him when he was a baby and he never knew his father. This changed with he found a dragon egg. It hatched, and he learned that Galbatorix wanted it. Eragon's uncle was killed, and he swore to avenge his death. As he travels, he sees the results of Galbatorix's rule firsthand. He and his dragon, Saphira, realize that they are destined to rid the land of Galbatorix once and for all.
